Set in the dangerous Dungeon City, the story follows Arwin Mabel Primrose Mactarode, a strong and noble princess knight who leads a team of adventurers into a mysterious dungeon. Her goal? To find a legendary treasure that could help restore her fallen kingdom.But here’s the twist—by her side is Matthew, a man who seems like nothing more than a useless freeloader living off Arwin’s hard-earned money. Townsfolk mock him, believing he contributes nothing. Himekishi-sama no Himo was first published in February 2022 under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint. As of early 2025, five volumes have been released, with over 200,000 copies in circulation—a testament to its growing popularity.Adding to its achievements, the series won the Grand Prize at the 28th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2021, which helped cement its status as a must-read fantasy title.
If you’re a manga fan, you’re in luck! A manga adaptation by Key Yang started serialization in September 2022. The third volume hit shelves in December 2024, and both the light novel and manga have been licensed by Yen Press for English readers.
